SUMMARY:Missional AI Summit
DESCRIPTION:The fifth annual Missional AI Summit moves this year to Plano\, TX\, from April 8-10. Themed “AI Collision – Shaping the Future Together”\, this foundational Christian conference on the use of AI in missional and ministry applications gathers sophisticated AI computer scientists\, product developers\, funders\, and ministry leaders to share diverse knowledge\, ideas\, and values about cutting edge technologies from faith-oriented perspectives. Similar opportunities and issues are arising in other faith traditions\, for which this conference is a bellwether. Whether you’re an AI professional\, a church leader\, or someone passionate about the intersection of technology and ministry and discipleship\, join more than 500 individuals from over 100 organizations representing 30+ countries. A half dozen AI&F experts and partner representatives will be speaking\, leading discussions\, and connecting with conferees on critical issues like the responsible application of AI and measurable accountability in this burgeoning marketplace for faith-oriented AI-powered applications. A report on outcomes to follow!\n\nLearn more here: https://missional.ai/

SUMMARY:Internal Event - Engaging Tech Policy\, Business and Law with a Commitment to Faith
DESCRIPTION:Our Spring Town Hall brings together two of AI&F’s Advisors: Jon Palmer\, the General Counsel of Microsoft\, in conversation with Kenneth Cukier\, the deputy executive editor of The Economist. They will discuss the intersections of religion\, ethics\, law\, and policy on business and society. What have been the influences (both positive and negative) that religion has had on US law\, legal ethics and the legal profession? How has this influenced Jon’s professional life\, and the role of Christian doctrine in the way he views ethics\, practices law\, and sees his role as a lawyer? What are the challenges and opportunities that AI presents in these contexts and the need for AI to develop in a way that aligns with ethical considerations? Their diverse backgrounds will make an especially interesting conversation: Jon is the son of a prominent Presbyterian pastor; Kenn’s father fled the Holocaust and took him to Quaker meetings as a child.
