Introducing: Daniel W. Rasmus, Founding Expert

Daniel W RasmusDaniel Rasmus is Founder & Principal Analyst at Serious Insights, a scenarios-based tech consultancy; a member of the AI and Faith Board of Directors; and a long-time member of Temple de Hirsch Sinai (Bellevue). He currently serves as the Head of Customer Products at wejo, a connected vehicle data company headquartered in Chester, U.K., whose mission is to create smarter, safer journeys for all.

Rasmus is the author of Listening to the Future, which explores his scenario work while Director of Business Insights at Microsoft. His latest non-fiction book, Management by Design, documents an innovative new methodology for work experience design. His other books include Rethinking Smart Objects (Cambridge), Understanding Artificial Intelligence (Sams) and Cyberlife (Sams). Rasmus is also the author of a book of poetry, Sketches of Spain and other poems, and a science fiction short, Twelve Ways to Escape an Alien.

Rasmus has also held the positions of Chief Marketing Officer at GlobalEnglish, Vice President and Research Director at Forrester Research. He was also the Chief Knowledge Officer of the Giga Information Group division of Forrester Research.

Rasmus’s thoughts about the future of work have appeared in The African Business Review, Fast Company, Chief Learning Officer Magazine, Talent Management, KMWorld, GeekWire, PopMatters and on the Harvard Business Review blog. Rasmus writes regularly about the future of technology and business at Serious Insights. His commentary on popular culture appears on BestEntertainmentReviews.com where he serves as Managing Editor.

As an internationally recognized speaker, Rasmus has addressed audiences at Enterprise 2.0, CeBIT, UBTech, The Future of Libraries, KMWorld, SAE International, Silicon Valley Comic Con and Future Trends.  He was a delegate to China’s World Cultural Forum in 2012. Rasmus is the former Visiting Liberal Arts Fellow at Bellevue College in Bellevue, WA. where he continues to teach Social Media and Personal Branding for Job Hunters. He also taught strategy and marketing at Pinchot University in Seattle, WA and has guest lectured at the University of Washington, Stevens Institute of Technology, Stanford and Cranfield University. Rasmus attended the University of California at Santa Cruz where he studied creative writing. He received a certificate in intelligent systems engineering from the University of California at Irvine.
