After a year of organizing and internal growth, AI and Faith is now officially a Washington non-profit corporation, having filed incorporation papers on October 17th.  Its current board members and officers are David Brenner (President), Daniel Rasmus (Secretary), Bruce Baker and Salah Dandan.  Three additional board members are planned and will be added shortly.  Next up: filing of Form 1023 to apply for federal income tax exemption.


Welcome to our newest Founding Institution, The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, whose president, Craig Detweiler, has also joined as a Founding Member.  Given the fundamental importance of human cognition and morality to the ethics debate around AI applications, Seattle School’s graduate degree programs in theology and psychology are a great match for AI and Faith’s mission.


And welcome also to our newest Founding Members,  Assistant Professor Jane Compson of UW Tacoma’s an Assistant Professor in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at UW Tacoma, and Thomas Osborn, CEO of Pathwright, a platform for online programs and education.


  • Technology and Faith ‘Unconference’ – December 8
    • Along with Seattle Pacific University and Theotech, AI and Faith will be a co-sponsor of the first-ever “Technology and Faith ‘Unconference’” to be held on December 8 at SPU.  For more information and to submit a request to participate, go to
  • AI Film Festival – mid-winter
    • AI and Faith members are in the early stages of preparing a 30 hour AI Film Festival this coming mid-winter, post-Super Bowl.  Details to follow.
