Our Advisors and Fellows have expertise in AI and related technologies, business, religious leadership and scholarship, ethics, education, finance, science, law, healthcare, media and communication, and academia. We engage in conversations with our partners and through our newsletters, podcasts, events, research, and strategic projects. Our mission also involves working directly with select organizations to expand and strengthen faith-based values and wisdom to the ethical development, use, and dissemination of AI technologies.

Adam Graber consults for innovative, faith-driven organizations and helps Christian leaders align emerging technologies to their ministry strategy. Previously Adam served as a Director for FaithTech, a global tech community of Christian technologists building Christian missional applications; at Tyndale House Publishers as an Bible editor and as product and marketing manager. Adam holds a Master’s Degree in Digital Theology from Durham University and a BS degree in Psychology and Bible from University of Northwestern – St. Paul.
Mark Graves the Research Director at AI & Faith, and a Research Associate Professor of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has developed AI and data solutions in the life sciences and healthcare industries and has experience consulting with biotech, pharmaceutical, insurance, and software companies; seminaries; and foundations. He has held teaching or research positions at eight institutions of higher learning and published over eighty technical and scholarly works in computer science, biology, psychology, and theology, including three books. Mark holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Michigan and a master‘s degree in theology from the Jesuit School of Theology and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley.
John C. Havens is a volunteer Advisor at AI & Faith and the Global Director for The IEEE Planet Positive 2030 Program and the Founding Executive Director of The IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems, which was responsible for creating a foundational document on Ethically Aligned Design that was utilized by the United Nations, the OECD, IBM, and dozens of organizations to create their AI principles, policies, and technology. John also helped create the IEEE 7000 Standards Series, the largest suite of international standards focused on AI and ethical/societal issues to date. Previously, John was an EVP of Social Media at Porter Novelli and was a professional actor for over 15 years. John is a TEDx speaker; has written for Mashable, The Guardian, and The Huffington Post; and is author of three books.
Quintin McGrath is a retired Deloitte IT executive and founder of QplusAI LLC, where he consults, lectures, and researches to advance Responsible AI. He sits on many boards including the CXO Advisory Network, Blumberg Capital’s CIO Council, and the Society for Information Management (SIM) in Tampa Bay, USA, and he is the Executive Director of SIM National’s Research Institute. Quintin holds a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) focused on AI, ethics, and risk management from the University of South Florida, a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Cape Town, and a Master of Arts in Missional Church Movements from Wheaton College, Illinois.
Marcus Schwarting is an AI Research Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory and is completing his PhD in computer science at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on applying deep learning to important challenges in computational chemistry, materials science, and spectroscopy. Marcus graduated from the University of Louisville in 2018 with degrees in mathematics and chemical engineering. After working for four years at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory, Marcus began his PhD studies in 2020.
Patricia Shaw is the Founder of Beyond Reach, a tech ethics consultancy in the UK that provides advice on AI and data ethics policy and government/regulatory affairs; designs AI and data ethics governance frameworks for corporations and other organizations; and curates experts for Ethics Advisory Boards, Panels and Committees. Patricia created and coordinates the Homo Responsibilis Network of Christian AI professionals across the EU. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from East Anglia University and a Masters of Laws degree from the University of Trier, and she is a registered (non-practicing) Solicitor both in England and the Republic of Ireland.
AI and Faith is a pluralist organization seeking to engage the world in the moral and ethical issues around artificial intelligence.
