Giving Tuesday: Help AI and Faith launch strong into 2024!

Next week is Giving Tuesday here in the United States. As you consider your year-end giving, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support AI and Faith’s mission of bringing the fundamental wisdom of major faith traditions into the burgeoning conversation about artificial intelligence.

Our founding in 2017 gave us a key head start in this vital conversation. With our recent merger with AI Theology, our expert community is now almost 160 technology experts, faith leaders, and related professionals working shoulder-to-shoulder from our particular faith beliefs and values (Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist) to secure AI outcomes that benefit society rather than weaken it.

Some of the ways our dedicated volunteer experts have leveraged the power of long and widely held faith beliefs to better boundary and steward AI this year are:

• AI&F is the ethics voice in the global Faith ERG movement through our third year of introducing practical AI ethics into the annual conference of leaders in the corporate faith DEI world.
• AI&F is the main faith-oriented entry point into the work of the now 114 global partners in the Partnership on AI.
• Our July response to the White House’s RFI on AI Policy is a clarion call for faith-oriented technologists and faith leaders to be included in White House AI policy formation.
• Four of the writers of the new Vatican foundational theological statement “Encountering AI: Ethical and Anthropological Investigations” are AI&F Advisors.
• The only clear faith representative of the 39 Advisors in the new UN AI Advisory Body is Fr. Paolo Benanti, a strong AI&F connection.
• The Christianity Today Oct cover story, Imago AI: AI Will Shape Your Soul, features five AI&F experts.
• We are closing on a key opportunity in 2024 to set meaningful and achievable AI standards and auditing practices for building trust and accountability across a broad spectrum of Christian ministry applications, as a potential model for other faith and secular AI audit processes.

We have achieved these results and more while remaining entirely volunteer-led. Imagine what we could do in 2024 with a professional director and initial support staff to build on these and other opportunities!  Please donate generously here to help strengthen our voices jointly and from your own faith tradition in this conversation. Your donation of $100 or more will entitle you to become a Member of our community and participate in special opportunities and discussions in 2024. For additional ways to donate or questions, please contact admin@aiandfaith.org.

Thank you and blessings in this critical moment in the AI conversation.

Board Chair
