Is the Director of Tech Ethics at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University and teaches AI ethics in the school’s Graduate School of Engineering. His work focuses on the ethics of technology, as well as the relationship of technology and religion. He is the author and co-editor of books on Space ethics, transhumanism, and is the co-author of the Ethics in Technology Practice corporate ethics resources. Brian holds doctoral and master’s degrees in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, and an undergraduate degree in genetics from Univ of California, Davis.
