We are all watching the already enormous wave of AI-driven change accelerate to ever higher and greater proportions. Meaning our mission at AI&F since 2018 – to bring deep faith values of the world’s major religions into the global debate on AI and help faith organizations, leaders and tech creators understand and navigate what is coming – has never been more important. In these last weeks of 2025, please help us fulfill this mission with a generous contribution to AI&F.
Hundreds of billions of dollars in private capital are already committed in 2026 to bring “agentic” and “frictionless” AI into every part of our lives. Undoubtedly, there will be substantial benefits on offer, but these come within systems of technology and power that can only be sorted and addressed with “all hands on deck” cooperation from other powerful sectors in society. Leaders and people of faith can stand as a bulwark for truth, human agency, liberty, and the right to live with meaning and purpose as their faith defines it – if only we can cooperate to bring wisdom, understanding, passion, and effective action to this dramatic reshaping of society.
Fortunately, efforts across the faith world are rising, and AI and Faith’s experts and partners are deeply and widely involved in them. Pope Leo is carrying forward the late Pope Francis’ emphasis on maintaining human dignity, rights and agency with numerous statements and support for initiatives across the Catholic world, in which our experts and partners are involved. Other global and national Christian organizations and denominations are actively assessing what their congregants want from AI. Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu leaders, institutions, and scholars are holding conferences; engaging business, government, cultural forces, media, and their own adherents about whether and how to wisely engage AI. Faithful technologists are assessing the work of their employers and other companies, and standards organizations are laying a solid foundation for bringing transparency and accountability to AI-powered products and processes.
In all of these contexts, influential experts with AI&F and partner organizations are speaking, writing, researching and strategizing to bring to the creation and uptake of these technologies the ethical guidance that has sustained humanity for thousands of years. Our new Executive Director, Research Director, part/time staff, key volunteer teams and emerging Affinity Groups are amplifying and encouraging our experts’ and partners’ knowledgeable voices. Next month, we’ll celebrate some of our particular accomplishments in 2025. But now we are asking for your help in closing out this year and laying a strong financial foundation for 2026.
Year to date we have received designated grant funds to support our new Executive Director and our research projects amounting to $359,000. We have raised $92,000 from individual donors against our 2025 operating budget for all other expenses of $130,000. To finish 2025 and launch us well into 2026, we are seeking to raise $45,000 by year end. Would you help us achieve this vital goal by making a generous contribution here before Dec. 31? If you wish, you can choose “recurring payment” to set up periodic monthly or quarterly payments on the donation page or if using a DAF like many of our donors, by contacting our administrator, Penny Yuen at admin@aiandfaith.org.
Watch for our end of year report next month to see what your past support has helped accomplish. Your financial gift now will greatly magnify the vital work of our own experts and partners in 2026. Thank you so much for your support.
