Is a professor of Computer Science at Calvin University. His research interests include robotics and computer vision as well as faith and technology issues. He has written extensively on the interplay of Christian values and technology, including Shaping a Digital World, and A Christian Field Guide to Technology for Engineers and Designers. Derek holds a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University.
