Seattle University’s Law Professor Mark Chinen, Senior Instructor in Management Nathan Colaner, and Adjunct Professor and Senior Google Director Tracy Kosa cooperated this summer in the design and teaching of a summer course for business leaders on AI and Ethics. The resulting online course will be free and open to the public, and those who took the course will have the option of following up with workshops tailored for specific needs. The course and workshops are the first projects overseen by the Initiative in Ethics and Transformative Technologies at Seattle University, which has been funded by Microsoft.

For Seattle Pacific’s fall semester, Associate Professor of Business Ethics Bruce Baker is launching a course for undergraduates called “Spirituality in Management” with a special topic focus on work, career, and management in the age of AI and robots. The course will address the moral issues concerning the impact of AI and Robotics in culture, society and personal lives; spiritual insights and wisdom for dealing with these issues; and how to prepare for and thrive in this coming work environment.
