Daniel Heck

Daniel Heck is an AI ethicist at The Understanding Group, an information architecture consulting firm. He has a rich background in non-profit leadership, including roles in the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), and immigrant and refugee ministry. His work focuses on integrated AI ethics, governance and management, especially for non-profits and other mission driven organizations.

Heck holds bachelors degrees in Natural Resources Management and Policy and German from The Ohio State University, as well as a Master of Theological Studies and a Master of Public Theology from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. His writing and work integrate AI theoethics, information architecture and Biblical Studies.
