Internal Event – AI and Diversity in the Workforce

Please join us for our June Salon on “AI and Diversity in the Workforce” with AI&F Expert Yasmin Ali. Yasmin is the founder of Skillspire, an education startup that offers technology boot camps for immigrants, refugees, and women, largely taught by part-time instructors who are also technology professionals. She was also an early and visionary member of the Muslim Association of Puget Sound (MAPS) and remains active in leadership there. 

Yasmin will be drawing directly from her experience navigating technology and the workplace to discuss the challenges and surprises that AI is currently bringing. Possible worker replacement by AI and the use of AI in hiring processes will surely interact with already complex situations regarding diversity in the workplace and the situation of immigrants in the labor force. Whether AI will enhance workers and make for more just opportunities, or only provide obstacles in the way of these, remains to be seen. And how faith will affect and be affected by all this technology remains an open question.
